The mission of Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL) is to enhance the quality of life for Taiwanese Americans. In order to cultivate a community that facilitates our mission, we request that all members and attendees of our programming and events adhere to the following Code of Conduct.

PURPOSE

Taiwanese American Citizens League, our officers, and the officers of our programs such as, but not limited to Taiwanese American Professionals, Leading Youth Forward, Leadership Identity Development, etc. (collectively known as TACL), is dedicated to providing a harassment-free space for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, national origin, citizenship, marital status, religion or lack thereof. TACL will not tolerate harassment of any of our members in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event, including convention programming sessions. TACL respects the rights, differences, and dignity of others. Those taking part in TACL activities are expected to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and civility and are accountable for their conduct with all members of the TACL community. Any TACL event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or banned from TACL at the discretion of the TACL organizers.

TACL may take action to address anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting TACL events or making the events hostile for any participants. TACL expects participants to follow these rules found under Anti-Harassment at all event venues and event-related social activities.

INCIDENT REPORTING

If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. Harassment and other Code of Conduct violations reduce the value of TACL events for everyone. TACL wants you to feel comfortable at our event. You can make a report either personally or anonymously through the below methods:

  • Officers from TACL or our programs will identify themselves at the events TACL hosts
  • TACL can be contacted in writing at:
  • Anonymous reports can be submitted at the below link:

PERSONAL REPORT

In case of aggression or violence, please call the police or security immediately!

When making a personal report, TACL will ensure you are safe and cannot be overheard. They may involve other officers to ensure your report is managed properly. Once safe, TACL will ask you to tell us about what happened. This process can be upsetting, but TACL will handle it as respectfully as possible, and you can bring someone to support you. You will not be asked to confront anyone and TACL will not tell anyone who you are.

Our program teams will be happy to help you contact venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide escorts, or otherwise assist you to feel safe for the duration of the event. TACL values your attendance.
