Despite the first of many March nor’easters rolling through as TAP-NY and TAP-Boston prepared to head to Mount Snow in Vermont, the storm left pristine snow conditions for a ski and snowboard extravaganza. Planning began months in advance as the two TAP chapters collaborated to host 75 people for a snowy weekend of fun, with all logistics covered from transportation, to slopeside condos, to lift tickets/rentals/lessons and even a pizza party on Saturday night. Moreover, Boxed, which is led by Taiwanese founder and CEO Chieh Huang, donated enough snacks and other supplies to last the weekend!
Beginner to advanced groups hit the slopes Saturday morning, proudly bearing custom TAP stickers with the weekend’s hashtag, #tapofthemountain. Many regrouped around lunch for a quick bite and a group photo before closing out the afternoon with some final runs.
Before the night’s festivities, some napped, some enjoyed the hot tub and free ice cream social, and others watched Olympians and X Games medalists do tricks and flips at Sam Adams Air & Après show. TAP members then mingled late into the night in a cozy condo over pizza, drinks, and games. Some spent Sunday recovering while others went back out on the slopes before the journey home to Boston and NYC.
Members noted the fresh powder, pizza party, and meeting new people across chapters (along with watching Ip Man and Linsanity on the bus ride from NY) as some of the highlights. We look forward to more cross-chapter collaborations and outdoor adventures in the future!
